The dates for Prime Day 2024 have been announced for July 16 – 21, making it the longest ever members-only sale that Amazon has hosted!
Gone are the days of the 48-hour Prime Day sale... wait, no – in Australia, Prime Day sales have been 65 hours because of the import items shipping in from the US. This year, for the first time, Amazon AU is extending the main part of the sale, with the deals fest scheduled to go on for six whole days!
Starting at 00:00am AEST on Tuesday, July 16 and ending at 11:59pm AEST on Sunday, July 21, this year's edition of Prime Day will bring marathon camera deals. While the number of actual big-brand cameras being sold on Amazon AU seems to have gone down a little over the last six months or so, the discounts will still be some of the best you'll see all year. Not only will you be able to snap up (pun intended) cameras, lenses, tripods, filters and other photographic accessories for less, you'll also find some of the best laptops, best camera phones and best tablets on sale too.
Our Amazon Prime Day deals hub is the place to be when it comes to the biggest savings on cameras and tech, and there are already a bunch of great early offers to be had.
If you can't wait until November for Black Friday, Amazon Prime Day is the perfect way to get the shiny new camera product you've been eyeing up for a great discount. However, remember that Prime Day 2024 is only open to Amazon Prime members, so make sure to sign up for a membership if you haven't already.
When will Amazon Prime Day 2024 deals go live?
The Amazon Prime Day 2024 event will last a full 6 days in Australia, kicking off at midnight East Coast time on Tuesday, July 16 and ending at midnight East Coast time again on Sunday, July 21.
Since the US seems to have its Prime Day sale for just 48 hours this year – July 16 - 17 only – we won't get the additional extended sale this time.
While a lot of the deals will go live at launch of the big sale, not all will be available on Day 1. Given how long this year's Prime Day sale is, you will need to return each day to see what's new, so we will be on hand to constantly check the best offers available and bring them to you as soon as we spot them.
We often find that the best deals can sell out within a matter of minutes – especially when you get a particularly good Amazon Lightning deal. This means that if you spy a good deal at a price that looks right to you, it's definitely worth picking it up as soon as possible before it sells out!
How to make the most of Amazon Prime Day
While a lot of the deals available during the Prime Day sale are available to shop for everyone, the best offers are locked to Amazon Prime members – as the name of the sale suggests, this event is for the paying subscribers. However, you don't need to shell out for a monthly membership in order to make the most of the sale's festivities.
Instead, why not sign up for a 30-day free trial just before the sale starts in order to take advantage of the discounts – and then simply cancel the membership when Prime Day is over. If you sign up now, you'll be well within the cancellation period once Prime Day has finished.
