Oppo phone rumors
Oppo has seen massive growth and mainstream recognition over the past couple of years, thanks to canny marketing, great word of mouth and, of course, sensational smartphone performance.
The manufacturer strategically partnered with European carriers during the rollout of the new 5G infrastructure, lining up its dominos for the future despite not having a significant market share in many European markets, showing that it intends to become a serious global player.
The cameras on Oppo phones now feature the Hasselblad touch (the legendary brand having previously been partnered with OnePlus) and this is a big deal. This includes a mechanical shutter sound, an interface reminiscent of medium format cameras like the Hasselblad X1D II 50C (including an orange on-screen shutter button), and a mode that enables you to shoot Hasselblad XPan-style panoramic stills.
Having just announced the flagship K10 Pro and Oppo K10 5G smartphones for the Chinese market, which will both sit above the vanilla K10 released last month, we are waiting to see if the new phones will launch worldwide, but we hope they do.
The Oppo Find N – the brand’s first commercially-available folding phone was announced in December last year in China, but it is yet to make its way past the border. We got our hands on the flexy-phone at the MWC 2022 trade expo in Barcelona and were impressed with its specs and more pocketable size (in the world of phablet/phone foldables).
Oppo Reno8
Oppo rumors at present are focused around the Oppo Reno8. Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, (via GSMArena), tips the upcoming phone as featuring a 6.55-inch 120Hz OLED display, a 50MP main camera, along with an 8MP ultra-wide, a 2MP module and a 32MP selfie camera.
Further alleged specifications are an in-display fingerprint reader and a 4,500mAh battery with 80W charging. Thanks to the new leak, we know to expect it to be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

Oppo under display camera
"For those seeking the perfect, notchless smartphone screen experience – prepare to be amazed," said Oppo VP Brian Shen. "You are taking a very first look at our under-display selfie camera technology."
The boastful exec was showing off the Oppo under-display camera tech, which (if it's like Xiaomi's similar tech, announced to rival Oppo's) features a photosensitive dual-display screen that enables a camera to be recessed beneath the phone screen – without the need for any punch holes or notches.
"At this stage, it's difficult for under-display cameras to match the same results as normal cameras, there's bound to be some loss in optical quality," Shen said in a follow-up. "But, no new technology jumps to perfection right away"…
