Polaroid Originals is hosting two very special events, opening Polaroid Pop-Up Labs in New York and Paris next week for limited one-month runs.
These Labs will enable Polaroid fans of all generations to test out new products, try out vintage products, play with the new Polaroid Lab, meet iconic photographers, take part in workshops and even go on photography street walks with modern and classic kit.
As the name suggests, these Polaroid Pop-Up Labs are primarily designed to give photographers a chance to try out the Polaroid Lab – the double-cool device that enables you to create authentic Polaroid film prints from images on your smartphone.
However, there is plenty more on offer. While a schedule of events at the Paris Pop-Up has yet to be announced, the New York Pop-Up will play host to all manner of Polaroid-focused activities.
On 09 November there will be a talk on Polaroid photographer Maripol, "known as the gatekeeper of '80s culture", hosted by America's Next Top Model judge Kelly Cutrone.
Then on 14 November the staff of vintage store Brooklyn Film Camera will dissemble a classic Polaroid SX-70 to show its inner workings, then hosting a neighborhood photowalk using vintage cameras as well as modern models like the Polaroid OneStep+.
