The Canon EOS Kiss M is also known as the Canon EOS M50 – and this has been a very popular camera since its release. The Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III was able to leapfrog over the EOS M50 and the Sony a6400, which were the top two cameras when BCN+R published 2019's data.
Some consumers may have expected the newer Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV to top the list, rather than the older Mark III generation. However, it's apparently not uncommon to see older cameras top these lists, due to the cultural attitude to shopping in Japan.
In any case, the fact that Olympus could be topping the sales charts in Japan may be a great sign for the new owners of the company. It may also indicate that loyalty to the brand will continue, regardless of the sale.
