July will see the release of the Tokina Cinema 25-75mm T2.9 lens. The manual lens has a 36mm image circle designed to cover Super 35 sensors, and features a compact design at 174mm long, industry standard 0.8 MOD cinema gears, T2.9 iris, 86mm filter thread, and 95mm front diameter for common cinema accessories.
The Tokina Cinema 25-75mm T2.9 completes the company’s Cinema lens collection, fitting in between the Tokina Cinema 11-20mm T2.9, the Tokina Cinema 16-28mm T3.0 MKII and the Tokina Cinema 50-135mm T2.9 MKII. This means that the range now completely covers focal lengths from 11mm super wide angle to 135mm telephoto.

The Tokina Cinema 25-75mm lens shares a number of features with others in the range, including a parfocal design to retain focus while zooming, limited focus breathing and low distortion. All lenses in the series feature an interchangeable mount between PL, EF, Sony E, MFT, and Nikon F mounts.
The larger 36mm image circle of the new Tokina Cinema 25-75mm T2.9 enables native coverage of RED Helium 8K, RED Dragon 6K, RED Monstro 6K, Alexa LF in 4K UHD, as well as popular cinema and mirrorless cameras from Canon, Blackmagic Design, and Panasonic in 4K DCI or 4K UHD.
The 25–75mm T2.9 lens is constructed of 18 elements in 15 groups, offers an iris range of T2.9 through T22, has a minimum focusing distance of 74cm (29.13in) and uses a nine-blade aperture diaphragm. It weighs in at 2kg (4.41lb), measures 174mm (6.85in) long (PL mount) and has a 95mm (3.74in) front diameter.
The Tokina Cinema 25–75mm T2.9 lens is available to preorder for PL, E, EF, MFT and Nikon F mount camera systems for $4,999. Tokina is also offering a 1.6x expander for PL or EF mounts that enables the lens to be used as a compact 40-120mm T4.2 with Vistavision cinema cameras. According to DPReview, US preorders can be made on the Tokina Cinema website, with the lens shipping in July.
