Digital Camera World Verdict

I thought the screen might be a little gimmicky, but I have actually found it incredibly useful for both knowing my devices are charging as fast as they could be, but even more essentially as energy prices rise again – how much power my devices are drawing when not in use. The 250W power is more than enough for running my desk, with it comfortably powering/charging multiple devices at the same time without running into any issues.

Pros

  • +

Fast single and total charging speeds

  • +

    Smart power switching between devices

  • +

Very useful display for keeping an eye on output

  • +

Great design and detachable power lead

Cons

  • -

Can get same output for less money

  • -

    Might be overkill for some

There is an overwhelming number of chargers out there with different power and port combinations, it's nearly impossible to know which one to go for. But when it comes to plugging in my most essential devices, I want to plump for a name I trust, and for years I have used and trusted Anker products.

Always developing, Anker has just unveiled its new Prime series of chargers, and the one at the top of my list was the Anker Prime 250W, which looks set to offer all the power I need for my desktop setup, but now with a new screen that shows contextual information about my charging speeds.

This has a greater power output, but no “AI” to manage output out of each port, or a screen to monitor power output.

If you want a powerful charger that is more mobile, then this all charger from Anker can provide a huge 100W charge from one port, but is also around the size of a pack of playing cards.
