Digital Camera World Verdict

If you own a Peak Design bag compatible with these proprietary V2 Camera Cubes then this system will be for you! We tested various sizes of the Camera Cube V2 with Peak Design's latest 25L and 45L Outdoor Backpacks and proved to have brilliant build quality, great construction and top-end materials. Weather resistance was also impressive and you can remove the padding for the top lid which allows it to fit more snugly in your camera bag. Our main issue is they aren't all that deep at just 13.5cm so it can be a squeeze to get larger kit such as bulky DSLRs or filter holders inside them, but if you use small and slim mirrorless kit, as well as portable screw-in filters this won't be so much of an issue. They are expensive, but if you own Peak Design bags – they're the best!

Peak Design's Camera Cubes V2 aren't a new product but are still used in new bags like the hotly anticipated and recently reviewed Peak Design 25L and 45L Outdoor Backpacks. The cube inserts are modular and are designed to work with many (though not all) of Peak Design's camera bags.

The V2 cubes are a modular camera box system for protecting your kit both in and out of your kit bag. This means they're interchangeable and available in five different sizes: Extra Small, Small, SMedium, Medium, Large, ranging from $49.95 to $109.95 depending on the size you go for.
